"Stormy clouds were clearing in the late afternoon and the sun came out and lit up this glade and birch trees. I was hiking by and took a couple shots handheld and didn't think much about it other than "that was pretty". When I returned home a week later this was my favorite shot from the whole week/trip, and in fact is one of my all time personal favorites (probably due to my own memory of this hike and place and time, I'm thinking other folks may just see just an uninteresting stand of trees). This is located along the shore of Lake Superior (one of the Great Lakes in the USA Midwest)."
