Ice March
Words of the photographer :
"Typically, we find geese to be an annoyance on the lake...but after a long, long winter, they were a welcome site! Walking gingerly across the ice, they made their way across the lake."

Galanthus Nivalis
........Galanthus (Snowdrop; Greek gála "milk", ánthos "flower") Galanthus nivalis is the best-known and most widespread representative of the genus Galanthus. It is native to a large area of Europe, stretching from the Pyrenees in the west, through France and Germany to Poland in the north, Italy, Northern Greece, Ukraine, and European Turkey. It has been introduced and is widely naturalised elsewhere. Although it is often thought of as a British native wild flower, or to have been brought to the British Isles by the Romans, it was probably introduced around the early sixteenth century and is currently not a protected species in the UK..........Wikipedia

stand up and be counted
Words of the photographer :
"I'm participating in Mass Audubon's annual Focus on Feeders Weekend (of course), and I'm glad this white-throated sparrow has stayed around to be counted. In addition, I have already had 3 pine siskins this morning, the first I've seen since December when I expected them to be a regular visitor for the winter.
So far I've counted 17 species this morning. I think my record is 20 for a day. Please help me break my record by sending me a redpoll, a grosbeak, and a bald eagle. Thanks in advance!"

Sunlit Birch Glade
words of the photographer:
"Stormy clouds were clearing in the late afternoon and the sun came out and lit up this glade and birch trees. I was hiking by and took a couple shots handheld and didn't think much about it other than "that was pretty". When I returned home a week later this was my favorite shot from the whole week/trip, and in fact is one of my all time personal favorites (probably due to my own memory of this hike and place and time, I'm thinking other folks may just see just an uninteresting stand of trees). This is located along the shore of Lake Superior (one of the Great Lakes in the USA Midwest)."

Great Moments
Words of the photographer :
"I've been wanting to try this shot ever since I saw Matt Pasant's version from this same corner last Summer. I finally had an opportunity to try it a few weeks ago. This was taken in the lobby of "Great Moments With Mr Lincoln" with the 8mm Pro Optic Fisheye. Getting this shot was an exercise in patience as virtually every time I set up a shot, another person would drift into the room and would park themselves conspicuously in front of the model of the Capitol Building. I finally caught a break and snapped a few shots moments before another crowd wandered in"
