I'm thinking cookies for dinner tonight...

words of the photographer :
"My sweet pal Sam sent me these cookies. They arrived about an hour ago and I'm not sure they will make it through the rest of today, lol. Especially since the Mr. has an eagle eye for homeade cookies and I'm convinced my kids have cookie-radar. I'm taking suggestions for a good hiding spot because they are THAT good. If you want to go into food sensory overload and drool on your keyboard then make you way over to Sam's photostream and view all the culinary delights she whips up. Thank you thank you thank you Sam, they are sooooo good! :) "

Banff National Park

Banff National Park, originally uploaded by Jim Boud.

Words below of the photographer :
"Every once in a while I just have to do something dramatic ;-)

I was going through my archives again last night when I found this shot I took last July in Banff National Park. When I saw the clouds I knew it would make a great HDR. I actually processed it both as an HDR and an Exposure fusion, then added both shots into Photoshop Elements as layers and reduced the opacity of the HDR shot to about 50%. That seemed to give me what I was looking for. I also ran it through a Topaz Adjust filter to make it a bit more dramatic. Hope you like it!"

Missouri / Sedalia Trust Building

Words of the photographer below :
"A view of the Missouri / Sedalia Trust Building, located on the northwest corner of the town square in Sedalia Missouri. The city of Sedalia is the county seat of Pettis county Missouri, and was founded in 1860 at the convergence of two railroads connecting it to other locations like Kansas City and Saint Louis and was very prosperous.

The building was built in 1890 by the newly formed Missouri Trust Company (which had a capital stock of $10,000!), and was originally a 3 story building with a basement. In later years the steps leading up to the first floor, and partially covering the basement (ground floor), were removed when the building was remodeled, making the original basement the first floor and the building currently having 4 floors. The structure was built using locally mined Missouri limestone and is a fine illustration of Romanesque style Victorian Commercial architecture, and a good example of the financial success of the city and area in the late 1800's. A few years back, the top story of the building caught fire but was extinguished before it could burn down. It is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned by a non-profit preservation group that is in the process of slowly restoring the building.

This is a 5-exposure HDR image and while I was taking the photos, it was snowing (can't see it in the photo) and extremely cold and very windy and I just about froze taking pictures of this for you! This is also my first posting of an image taken with my new Canon T2i that Santa brought me for Christmas! My favorite feature of the camera: being able to zoom in to the sensor (live view) for critically sharp focusing. A great feature for an old geezer like me! Hah! Hope you all have a great week!"

Blue beach, Crosby. Explored, originally uploaded by Ianmoran1970.

Words of the photographer:
"Another from the muddy boots and loaf session some a little while back, there were a number of compositions sharing the same wonderful sky that we had that evening, normally I processed pictures that showed different elements and leave the rest, I was just taking a browse through the shots from that evening, and thought this was quite nice, hope you like.

Have a great day."
