We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine.

If I hadn't had a broken foot, I would have climbed on top of my car to get a better perspective. I was on a high hill, but you can't quite perceive that in this photo. " .... says the photographer.

Socializing
Here is what the photographer says to describe this lovely shot :
" these Ring-Tailed Lemurs are walking free through the park. Throughout the day they walk through the trees, but late in the afternoon they gather on the fields and form family groups. It was so nice to see all these families settling in for the night and socialize, like this mother who took some time to feed the youngsters."

I like how it appears I am looking down on the lower clouds. As though I were flying. But in fact I was standing on terra firma. "

Another kind of nest.
A person can run for years but sooner or later he has to take a stand in the place which, for better or worse, he calls home, do what he can to change things there.

High And Tight
" The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. -Brooks Atkinson

Seagulls
The description below belongs to the original photographer :
" Around the coast of Great Britain Seagulls are said to host the souls of dead sailors. It is, therefore, said to be very unlucky to kill a Seagull. Seeing three Seagulls flying together is a sign that of death coming close to whoever sees them. Seagulls seen deep inland indicate rough weather out at sea..."
If this is true we can look to them and call by their names:
João, Carlos; Joaquim, Paulo; Pedro......... "

simultaneousness egrets from bali
Below are the words of the original photographer describing this moment :
" here is a photo taken with my favorite natural lighting condition and subject… yeah, the precious & gorgeous golden lighting at sunrise with those translucent back-lighted wings.
before shooting this frame, those little egrets were flying with an incredible synchronism, together all the time, quite like an egret carrying a mirror aside; many times they were showing off some incredible maneuvers right in front of my nose. frustrating for me, because the fact was happening at very near time of dawn and i hadn’t sufficient light to click the shutter. increasing iso for more than 400 would give me too much granulation in the entire composition and the use of flashlight *even with a diffuser* most probably would be disastrous. it was hard to remember constantly that they were wild, they could get scared easily and pluff… disappear in a blink of an eye.
I was lucky, they came back later on and eventually, i got this shot. controlling lens flare was a bit difficult but my crew were very cooperative, they promptly answered my request of *don’t move, be quiet, no breathing and heads down* and I could maneuver my big lens comfortably."

Indigo Bunting
Read the words of the original photographer about this cute bird :
" Woo-hoo! Life bird!
This is a most unusual bird in our area. It kept getting spotted in random places but I wasn't able to find it. Lately, though, it seems to have finally settled down to one territory where it can be reliably found. So Yamil Saenz and I went out and found it. Thank you sir! :-)
I am amazed how close its call is to the Lazuli Bunting.
I thought Lazuli's were amazing birds. The photo does not do this gentleman justice. Amazing blues. I suppose I'm ready for a Painted Bunting now. :-) "

Yesterday...on the road.
As for marigolds, poppies, hollyhocks, and valorous sunflowers, we shall never have a garden without them, both for their own sake, and for the sake of old-fashioned folks, who used to love them.
