"ordinary" star

"ordinary" star, originally uploaded by muha....

Read what the person who took this amazing photo says about it :
" For those who said their favoutite colour is Orange.
..................................................................................................
It is often said that the Sun is an "ordinary" star.
The Sun is, at present, about 70% hydrogen and 28% helium by mass everything else ("metals") amounts to less than 2%. This changes slowly over time as the Sun converts hydrogen to helium in its core. "

I hope that was useful as well as interesting .

I agree with every word below from the original photographer :
" He has the coolest markings... I wish we could have kept him but I am sure he is much happier in the creek. Just look at his little nose holes... so damn cute!! "

Looking back

Looking back, originally uploaded by joyrex.

Below are the words of yhe original photographer :
" This picture is taken in theme park de Efteling. We had a company out in this theme park and had a rough evening before that. I had the worst hangover and especially in the morning the only attraction I could join was the 20-minute boat ride in a pond filled with ducks. I took this ride twice, the second time I even slept the whole ride. After that I felt a lot better and on the way to the other attractions we crossed these two fellows. Especially the one in the front was quite aggressive and at a certain point he was even picking towards the camera :-) "

Peyto lake is a glacier-fed lake in the Waputik Range of Alberta Rockies. It is a part of the Banff National Park, accessed from the Icefields Parkway. The brilliant turquoise blue color comes from suspended glacial rocks.
A sight to see, indeed.

Guarded Moments

Guarded Moments, originally uploaded by thepres6.

For the camera, the creative moment is brief--a compelling, ephemeral collision of event and artist. Extreme awareness combined with unobtrusiveness becomes the contest the photographer must work within. -Ken Ruth

A Storm at the Bayou, originally uploaded by jeffclow.

" Storm clouds move over the coastline near Palacios, Texas.

I used high dynamic range imaging here to capture the nuances of color in the foreground and the foreboding nature of light and darkness in the clouds.... " these are the words of the original photographer

Double vision

Double vision, originally uploaded by kktp_.

Words below are the words of the original photographer :
" Back to Lily art again. This is (in camera) double exposures shot as I want to get shallow dof while still maintain detail of the front petal and some petals in the background. Smaller aperture will get everything too sharp and ruin the softness effect. "

When I'm sleeping

"Sometimes it's good to think aloud, and say to you
See the funny faces up in the clouds
A place to get crazy, where life gets so lazy
There's no no, there's no yes, but everything is maybe
Oh, I'd love to get lost in a dream, wash my fears
In nature's streams...
When I'm sleeping, I get healing
Thinking of the color blue
When I'm sleeping, I slow down my breathing
Living in dreams, dreams that come true
Thinking of the color blue
Thinking of the color blue... yes..."

words by the original photographer, I am not sure if he/she is the one who composed it....
